Did I hear him right?
Over the past few days, of course, the TV has been covering the tragedy of Katrina. I was actually able to sit down tonight and watch some of the coverage. As I watched, I found myself going through a realm of emotions. Sadness from the disaster, elation from reunion stories, anger from the raping and looting, and today....disbelief. I'll explain. For the first time, I saw Jesse Jackson make his appearance on television. He was being interviewed by the antagonistic reporter from CNN, Anderson Cooper. He's a whole other blog himself. Anyway, Mr. Jackson suggested that the reason the help from the government wasn't as expected was because of race. ..that because the victims were mostly black and poor, the relief was deemed less dire. How dare he! Only Mr. Jackson can take an enormous tragedy like this and turn it into a racial issue. The gall of that man is unfathomable. I have never seen a man that starves more public attention than this man. I could not believe some of the suggestions that were coming out his mouth. And that idiot Anderson Cooper kept prodding and prodding. All TV networks need to ban together to keep this moron, Mr. Jackson, off the air. But that's me opinion.
